Best known to old friends as "Cadillac Bobby", Robert Mario Cervarich passed away peacefully on October 3, 2022, at the age of 89.
Born March 24, 1933 in Bozava, Croatia. As a teen, he and his mother immigrated to San Francisco where they rejoined his father and settled there. He graduated from Galileo High School and then joined the United States Air Force as a mechanic. After being honorably discharged, he became a bartender and worked at Bimbo's 365 Club where he would meet the love of his life, Ellen Weidmann.
The two were married in 1967 and soon had two children, Karen and Mark. Bob worked as a BART Station Agent primarily at Montgomery station. He greatly enjoyed betting on horse racing throughout the state. He was a life member of the Dolphin Club. After retirement, Bob continued his love of gardening in Sebastopol and San Francisco, and traveling around the world with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Maria (Batkovich) and Bozo Cervarich, his brother and sister-in-law, Miro and Rose Cervarich, and granddaughter Ava Marie Cervarich. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ellen and their two children: Karen (Mick) Donnelly and Mark (Vale) Cervarich. His cherished role was that of "Opi" to his grandchildren: Ciara (Chase), Fiona, Oscar and Lucy. He will be missed.
