Loving husband, father, grandfather ("Dida"), great-grandfather and friend, Robert Bilafer passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024. An only child of immigrants from Croatia, Bob was born, raised and lived his entire life in San Francisco. Graduated from Dudley Stone Grammar School, Lowell High School and the University of San Francisco. Bob was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy Amphibious Forces as a Coxswain.

Bob married Patricia Powers and together they raised three children. They resided in the Parkside District of San Francisco and were active in St. Gabriel's Parish for many decades. Bob and Pat loved to travel, visiting much of the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan. Their travels provided many lifelong memories.

Bob was very proud of his Croatian heritage and was a member of the Slavonic Mutual Benevolent Society, Croatian Fraternal Union and Hayduk Athletic Club. Bob was a huge Bay Area sports fan, following all local teams from the time he was a child until his final days. He was an avid reader and loved to play cards with his friends He enjoyed the good life and relished the pleasures of retirement after a 36-year career in finance with Chevron Chemical Company.

Bob is survived by his wife Patricia; children Janet Bilafer-Steiner, Lynne Payne (Robert) and Mark Bilafer; grandchildren Kristen Ramos (Zachary), Erika Steiner and Renee Davis; and great-grandchildren Kiara, Duke and Hendrix Ramos; Kainalu Steiner; and Jack and Allison Davis. He also leaves behind many relatives in the Bay Area, East Coast, Montenegro and Croatia. He was proceeded in death by his parents Robert and Katharine (Jurisic) Bilafer.
