Last Thursday, the first pastor of our St. Albans church (1980-1984), Pastor Stjepan Jakovac, passed away in the Lord. With hope in the resurrection and eternal life, a hope he preached throughout his life in all the communities he served, we express our Christian condolences to his son Joseph, daughter Vesna, and their families, extended family, and all friends and acquaintances.
Joseph and Vesna, the late pastor's son and daughter, have asked us to publish the following message.
Dear family and friends,
We, Joseph and Vesna, have made a decision about our Dad’s burial. It will be a closed, private service.
We have shared our Dad with the whole world while he was alive. He was such a big public figure, but this is now our time to farewell our dad in private with our own families. 1 son, 1 daughter, our spouses, and his 5 grandchildren.
We understand that many will be saddened and disappointed with our decision. However, we are honouring Dad’s wishes by saying goodbye in this way.
We thank you for respecting our privacy at this very difficult time, and allowing us to grieve in private. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you would consider making a donation to ADRA in Dad’s memory.
