Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Columbia Forest Long Term Care at the age of 80.
Beloved husband of the late Marija Carapina (2012). Loving father of Maria (Emilio) Albi, Vlado (Linda) and David (Danica).
He will be sadly missed and remembered by his grandchildren Stipe, Mate and Antonio. Predeceased by his sister Marija Carapina and his parents Vlado and Lucija Carapina.
Stjepan arrived to Canada in 1967 from Vrdi, Croatia. First settling in Winnipeg, where he met his beloved wife Marija. They then moved to Kitchener and built a happy life together raising their three children who were their pride and joy. Stjepan loved woodworking, gardening, making wine and cured meats, and listening to gusle.
Stjepan enjoyed spending time with his friends and kumovi at various Croatian events within the community. His legacy will live on through the traditions from his native Hercegovina that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He will forever be remembered for his big heart, sense of humour, and devotion to his family.
May he rest in eternal peace reunited with his beloved Marija.
