She was a devoted wife of 60 years, loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. Born September 21, 1934 on the Island of Pašman in Ugrinić, Croatia, she was predeceased by her parents, Andrija & Milka, brother Grgo and sister Antica.
She is survived by her husband Rade Bobić, her two children, Files (Michael), Andrew (Deana) and her beloved grandchildren, Ella, Alexander and Stella; her siblings Marija , Mandalena, Ljubica, Milka and Ante her nieces, Jelica , Anita and Mary; her nephews, Albert, Tony and Nick in Canada; in addition to many nieces and nephews in Croatia.
Vera was an incredibly caring and thoughtful woman with a generous spirit, and a devout Catholic. She worked hard from a young age in Croatia and always put others before herself in everything that she did. After spending many years working at a hospital in Split with her sister Marija, she met and married her husband Rade.
They soon moved to Canada in 1961 to start their family. She was a creative talent in the kitchen and was happiest when cooking for family & friends in her home. She enjoyed gardening and sewing, but most of all enjoyed caring and providing for her children ensuring that they had every opportunity she did not. In her later years, her grandchildren gave her the greatest joy in the world.
In 2012 she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Her final years have been difficult for all who knew her. Vera will be greatly missed and will remain forever in our hearts.

A private church service will be held on March 25th at 10am at Prečisto Srce Marijino - Immaculate Heart of Mary, Croatian Parish, Vancouver. A livestream will be available for general viewing 5-10 minutes prior at https://www.facebook.com/gospavancouver/
