It is with great sadness that we announce Victoria (Vicki) Bradica (nee Paradi), passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2022, after a short battle with cancer.

Vicki was born in Jurovski Brod, a village in the County of Karlovac, Croatia, on August 21, 1940.

Vicki was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Sime (Sam) in 2018; her mother Katherine (Frank) Grmak; grandparents Miha and Marija (nee Srbelj) Paradi; special aunt Anna (Miodrag) Gavrilovic; and uncles Miho (Rosa) Paradi and Ivan Paradi. Vicki is also predeceased by Sam's sisters Draga and Marica; brothers Giuseppe, Ivan, Nikola and Aldo; as well as her father-in-law and mother-in-law Krsto and Tomica (nee Bulic) Bradica.

Vicki is survived by her daughter Marijana Szczepaniak (Artur); sons John (Karen), William (Anne), Christopher (Crystal), Michael (Shelley) and Simon (Stacey); cousin Marica (Tihomir) Stajduhar; sisters-in-law Maria Bradizza, Ljuba Bradica (New York) and Ana Bradica (Florida); as well as many nieces and nephews in Canada, the United States and Croatia.

Vicki was a loving Baba to thirteen grandchildren who were always in her heart: Cailyn (Darrik Smith), Jacqueline (Jason Stephenson), Spencer, Alexandra, Emelia, MacKenzie, Matthew, Olivia, Kyle, Daniella, Owen, Gabrijela, and Nickolas. She was overjoyed to welcome Liam, her first great grandchild and another great grandchild on the way.

Vicki arrived in Canada in 1954 at age 14 with her mother, settling in Port Arthur. Vicki and her mother began a life long friendship with Rudy and Helen Cvornjek, who would become Godparents to Sam and Vicki's 6 children. Vicki quickly learned English, completing grades 1 through 8 in two years at St. Margaret's School. She continued her education at St. Joseph's Hospital Nursing School, achieving certification as a Registered Nursing Assistant, working at St. Joe's until retirement as a Registered Practical Nurse in 2004. Vicki was a long-time member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's League.

The family offers their profound thanks for the care shown by all staff at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre; Northwest Regional Cancer Centre, Medical Inpatient Units 1A and 3B and the Emergency Department. The thoughtfulness and attention of Dr. Reid, Dr. Anthes, Dr. Chan, Dr. Hassan, Dr. Turner, Physician Assistant Carleigh Sawula, Red Cross transportation services staff and Superior North EMS paramedics is much appreciated.

No flowers by request, the family encourages those wishing to make a gift in memoriam to consider the St. Joseph's Foundation, TBRHSF - Northern Cancer Fund or the St. Margaret's Church Maintenance Fund.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 11:00am in St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, 88 Clayte Street, celebrated by Fr. Ciaran Donnelly.
