She came to the United States in 1960 to care for her grandmother. While living in Youngstown, OH, she met and married her husband, John. Together they shared 42 loving years before John passed in 2003. Violet spent her life placing her family first. Violet was known for her amazing pastries and generously shared them. Anyone who visited her home never left hungry.
Violet’s Catholic faith was her lifeline. She truly lived her faith and shared it with others. Violet was a member of St. Joseph Church. Violet was a charter member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Peter of the Fields Cursillo, and a volunteer for the Randolph, Atwater, Suffield Food Shelf.
Violet is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary (Dan) Rodenbucher, Rosemary (Michael) Guerriero, Kathy (Denny) Hopp, Barbie (Ken) Weiss, Anne (David) Nelson, 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and sisters in Croatia Barica Namjesnik, Katica Belaj, and Ruza Sagi. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Marija, brothers Stepan, Josip, and Ivan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family will receive family and friends from 11 to 12:30 prior to mass at the church. Recitation of the rosary will take place at 12:30. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society or Randolph, Atwater, Suffield Food Shelf (both c/o 2643 Waterloo Rd. Mogadore, OH 44260). The family respectfully requests that those attending wear masks and practice social distancing.
