It is with great sadness and fond memories that we share the news of Vladimir Vranes' passing. He departed peacefully on September 12, 2026. Vladimir was born on June 12th, 1940 to Dmitar and Sofija in Tuzevici, Croatia. From early years, he excelled as a student and graduated with high achievements from Civil Engineering at the Engineering University in Belgrade, Serbia. He had a successful career working for the railroad company in Sarajevo, Bosnia. He was awarded the Order of Labor with the Silver Wreath in 1978 for his leadership role and dedication in the Bosnia Railroad Company. Amongst his many other awards, he also received the leadership awards for work on Una Railroad in 1987 and the award for outstanding work in Austria with Plasser and Theurer in 1972.
Vladimir and the family moved to Arizona after the war in Bosnia as refugees in the 1990s. Vladimir's life was marked by world travel, meaningful relationships, genuine friendships, and notable achievements. As a devoted husband, father, brother, and a friend, he leaves behind a legacy of love, humanity, and kindness. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 59 years, Mirjana, his daughters and sons-in-law, Ljiljana and Ozren Paravac, Biljana and Ronald Darden, and grandsons Darko and Marko Paravac.
